Contest Terms & Conditions

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully. You will have to agree to abide by them in order to enter the competition.


1.         This is competition for the best poem which represents true happiness (the Poem).

2.         The Poem must be no more than 400 words 

3.         Entrants must send their Poem pasted into an e-mail to

4.         The entry must include your full name and the email address to which your ebook can be sent as well the email address to which you can be notified if you have won the prize.  No other form or means of entry to the competition will be accepted. 

5.         Your Poem must be your own original work.  You must not include or use in your Poem or as part of your entry submission:

  • any material which is defamatory, obscene or in any way offensive or unlawful, 
  • material in which other people own the copyright,
  • others’ brand names or trade marks,
  • any pictures or photographs, or
  • any kind of music.

6.         The competition commences on 1st November 2010 and ends on 31 October  2011. Each month the entries submitted that month will be entered into the contest for that month. For example if you submit your poem on December 5th 2010, you will be in December’s competition. The winner of each month’s competition will be announced within two weeks of the end of that month. The winner will be selected on the first day of the following month so November’s winner will be selected on 1 December by Dr Mark Atkinson & Rod Francis (The Judges) from the entries received in accordance with Paragraphs 1 – 5 (Qualifying Entries).  The Judges’ decision is final.  

7.         All the Poems will be available at, where they can be seen by visitors to the site, and will be used by us for marketing, promotional and advertising purposes.  The winner’s Poem will be posted on the home page of   Entering this competition will be taken as your agreement that your Poem can be used in this manner.

8.         All entrants who submitted Qualifying Entries will be sent a copy of an ebook by Dr Mark Atkinson entitled The Seven Secrets of Positive Mental Health.

9.         The winner each month will receive a free place on the course on True Happiness. For more information click here.

11.       The prize is non-transferable and no replacement will be given if the winner is unable to attend.  There is no cash alternative.

12.       No purchase is necessary to enter this competition.

13.       The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over

14.       Only one entry per person allowed. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.

15.       We are not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.

16.       The Promoter is The Academy of Human Potential, 5 High Cross, Froxfield, Petersfield, GU32 1EQ. All references to “we” “our” and “us” are to the Promoter. 

17.       We reserve the right to alter the prize or cancel the competition without notice.

18.       We reserve the right to amend the specification of the prize although every effort will be made to provide prizes of similar quality and value.

19.       The winner will be notified by email within 1 week of the winner being announced

20.       Your email address will not be shared with other companies. Your e-mail will however be placed on our e-newsletter mailing list, unless you request us to not do so.

21.       We will only use your email address, and the winner’s postal addresses, in compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and in accordance with our privacy policy.  

22.       By entering the competition each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
